so much to write about in the last 24 hours… It’s been a busy one! Now leaving, so will be back to pad out a few blog posts when I get back to the UK.
Valemount to Cadmore to Salmon Arm
A lot of driving over the last two days; we started out from Valemount and took the highway to Jasper, then onwards to Cadmore (just east of Banff). The scenery was amazing.
Shopping, Trains and Mountains
After a great nights’ sleep in Roxi’s trailer, we headed into Prince George for shopping at the mall. Erin and Brooklyn loved going together and spending money! We all met at Red Robin for lunch, before parting from the family to head to our next location.
We stopped off at the Rail and Forestry museum and took a train ride, and spent an hour or so looking around. Despite a bear being spotted that day in the museum, again we saw hide nor hair of it!
We then hit the road and took Highway 16 towards Valemount, where we stopped in a cabin for the night.
(For those wondering where the photos are, I will add them when I get to somewhere with stable data.)
Haulin’ Logs, driving to PG, and a birthday…
An early start for me on Monday, as I went out with Uncle Jeff on the truck to haul logs. We left at 01:30, took the barge to the pick up, then drove to the lumber mill to drop off. We arrived back at the house for about 10:30.

Caching in, and an early night
After a minor lay in, we hit the trail with family in search of geocaches. Along the way we saw some simply amazing views, and found four geocaches.
Meeting the family.
What a day! We met so many family members today, with the extended family coming to Jeff and Rhonda’s. Food and drink were consumed (so much food and drink) and good times were had. Not much else to say, other than it was another perfect day.
Horses and berries and quads, oh my…
So, after a fantastic breakfast cooked by Aunty Rhonda we headed out to help (or hinder) moving the horses from one paddock to the other. Erin and Claire helped Rhonda move the horses, while I held the eldest mare.
Travelling from PG to Burns Lake…
After a breakfast of waffles (made by me on a waffle iron) and syrup, we headed to The Exploration Place. There was a fascinating exhibit on the Franklin Expedition and we even found mention of somebody from the other side of the family (albeit not in a favourable light).
On the road again…
A big driving day today. We headed out from Kamloops a little after 9am, heading for Prince George. We almost missed one of the most amazing views I have seen in my life, simply because it was behind us.
Secwepemc, being poolside, and a few blasts from the past…
Today we spent the day in Kamloops, a place I had visited with my parents a little over a decade ago. Kamloops is a desert town, with a large rail network and river network running into it. It is easy to see how the town would have developed in the early days.
